Why Kushasan?

According to mythological belief, when Lord Vishnu assumed the form of Varaah and killed the great demon Hiranyaksha hiding in the ocean floor and came out after freeing the earth from him, he lashed his hair. At that time some hairs fell on the earth. They appeared in the form of Kush.

Kush is a bad conductor. Therefore, the power of the devotee who sits on its seat and does worship, prayer or rituals does not decrease. As a result, desires are fulfilled immediately. It is noteworthy that the Vedas have described Kush as a medicine that gives immediate results, increases life span and prevents the spread of infection by purifying the polluted environment.

Why Kush Pavitri?

While performing Sandhya-Vandana, there is a scriptural rule to make a Pavitri (ring) of Kush and wear it on the ring finger so that the spiritual power accumulated by the hand does not go to the other fingers. The reason for this is that the Sun is believed to reside at the base of the ring finger.

We get life force, brightness and fame from the sun. Pavitri is also worn to prevent this energy from entering the earth. Some thinkers believe that It is believed that if the energy of the hands is not protected then it can have adverse effects on our brain and heart.
